we did it
Through all my complaints and doubts, soccer came to a climactic high point yesterday. I played in the three most important games in my soccer career this last week. After 330 minutes of intense play, fifteen penalty kicks, one fight, an attempted red card, and blood, sweat and exhaustion, we ended the week by defeating our long-term rivals, Belmont Abbey College, for the first time in four years to take the conference tournament championship and the automatic bid to the NCAA national tournament. For the first time in Queens history. Being a starter on this new team I cannot help that I am elated, despite all the drama and pains that this team seems to be going through. And, comically enough, we are the only team to make it to the NCAA tournament with a losing record. Just goes to show you never know what can happen…
That is pretty much what is fun in my life right now. What’s worth sharing. What can I say, I’m a soccer stud right now, if nothing else…
Love Always,
Sarah
